One of the worst games of rugby I have seen in a long long time, I recorded the match so hi could watch england and the kiwis first, 1 scrum was completed in the first half, wales were going backwards every time they passed the ball short to one of the forwards, and has gatland told anyone in the team about passing when you have an overlap and not kicking it away. can only see wales beating samoa in this series.

It really wasn't the best, and despite the performance, Wales could have won! Very average looking New Zealand team compared to recent times, but Gatland definitely keeps adding guts and toughness to Wales' performances. We would have been beaten convincingly 2-3 years ago.

if wales win the 6 nations or win the remaining 3 fixtures of the autumn internationals i shall parade around dave parade with my love gun out while banging one of those blow up sheep, tooting the english national anthem with I disagree cheeks.
thats how confident i am we wont. australia alone will save me on this one. probably samoa and argentina too.

weasel - you really think that.?
i think wales are making strides forwards all the time.?
I know we finished what was it 3/4th in 6 nations last year but we was minutes away from winning triple crown.
We are defo improving all the time and are closing the gap with the Sh teams every year.
I am more worried about an upset happening with either samoa or argentina but i really think we shall beat OZ and do well in the 6 nations.!

That Aussie team will beat us. They are better than us in the backs and their forwards will win more ball.
Argentina will beat us up front and we will name a second side against Samoa who we will probably beat (although our record against them is not very good at best) but we will get absolutely battered from playing them.
The gap is closing to the SH but we're still not good enough to win without being at 100% full strength and playing well. But yes, the gap is closing. Its still a bloody huge gap though.
At the moment the pecking order is
Boks HUGE GAP NZ Aus Massive Gap Ireland France Wales England Argentina HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE GAP Everyone else

See i think Oz come under the first massive gap as any of Oz/Ire/France/wales and england(without there injuires) can beat each other.!
I think we will play a weakened team next week but the squad isnt that big anyway. i think we shall win but not by more than 12.
Then to be honest im more woried about playing aregntina than Oz. Argentina game might come down to who wants it more.? and we might have our eye on Oz the week after. Whereas OZ we shall be well up for taking another SH scalp.
Hats of though to the WRU for arranging these tough fixtures every year and i beleive whether we are beating these sides or not it is helping us to improve.
I fully expect us to do well in the 6 nations expecially with Adam Jones, Mike Phillips, Lee Byrne and hopefuly Ian Evans back. We missed Byrne hitting the line on saturday.!

Thats what I mean, for us to be successful we have to be at full strength - any players missing and we cant compete at the top.
Boks lose Habana - painful but they certainly dont lose - England lose pretty much an entire side and still only beaten by 9...
We're not in that sort of fold - Australia are a dangerous side because they have the self belief that really is only matched by the Boks - this 'arrogance' will see them through in games where its close - which I expect their game at Cardiff will be.
They wont stop trying the magic - whereas other teams sit back and play safe - and those who take risks tend to win eventually.

I agree with your overall argument, but we were without arguably the best full back around and definitely the best scrum half in the Northern Hemisphere. That's a lot of quality to lose from two players. We're also without our number 2 scrum half, a world-class scrummaging prop, and Jonathan Thomas, Ian Evans and Mark Jones.

Mark Jones, Jonathan Thomas and Ian Evans are no loss - Mark hasnt played well for Wales in years and the other 2 have never ever been regular first choice picks.
Phillips and Byrne are massive losses and the lack of a tight head was a big factor in the result. But why are we so short on quality that if we lose our first choice full back we've got nothing in reserve?
After all, we're told day in, day out, we're a rugby nation -> why do we only have 1 international class full back? I also thought we looked devoid of ideas and couldnt do anything but offer the smash ball and snake side to side.

Yeah your right i think we are stuck in a bit of a generation gap to be honest as there is defo quality coming thru that are between 18-21 ie dan evans, jon davies, ashley beck, lydiate, james tipuric, tom prydie, sam warburton, james loxton, jason tovey, dan biggar, tavis noyle, motgan stoddart.
I honestly think they are a talented group of young players who are now fully professional as they have only known rugby to be professional.
We are probably missing talented players around the early and mid 20s to strenghten the squad.
I think our problem is at the moment is we dont have strike runner from 15, maybe we should bring tom james in on wing to help with this as hes a great runner.
And we lack creativity in midfield.?
I think shanklin is now shoot and i would like to see hook at 12 and roberts at 13, they could play left and right centers and roberts could still be used as crash ball just different moves to be done and roberts could play 12 in defence.
I think a roberts/hook center pairing will go very well and bring balance to the back line.
My back line would be as follows from players that are available
15 1/2penny 14 james 13 roberts 12 hook 11 shane 10 jones 9 cooper
what do you think .?
